Reboot Speed

We tested the reboot speed of the operating systems as it incorporates both the speed with which it can shutdown and boot up. We used a stopwatch to record the time it took from hitting restart to the moment the desktop or start screen loaded, and repeated each test three times to ensure consistency.

SATA Performance

Website: ATTO Disk Benchmark

We tested the SATA performance with an OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SSD. Thanks to its DuraWrite compression technology, this drive is able to saturate the SATA 6Gbps bus when used in conjunction with ATTO, which uses compressible files.

We use ATTO Disk Benchmark, and take the read and write speeds for 1,024KB data chunks.
